Welcome to frontiermorgantown.org, the information and support site for our team that’s working to plant Frontier Community Church in Morgantown, West Virginia.  Here you’ll be able to find information on the planting team, the city of Morgantown, and our vision for this work.  In addition, you’ll find information on how you can partner with us in this effort through prayer, financial support, or joining us on the ground in Morgantown.

Our culture has long been fascinated with the idea of the frontier. The history of our nation is closely tied to common people who braved new lands in the hope of finding a better life. Even many of the stories that we tell today in books and films, be they about fearless sailors, life in the old west, or futuristic starships exploring new worlds, are intimately tied to the idea of the frontier. Perhaps part of the reason for that fascination is the fact that we have been created by God to be spiritual people who are constantly pressing forward in our relationship with him. The Bible is full of examples of people who were “frontier” God-followers, leaving behind comfort and security to follow God into the unknown. Whether Abraham leaving home for a foreign land, Moses returning to Egypt to lead his people to freedom, or a young girl named Mary embracing the most astonishing and difficult pregnancy in human history, many of our spiritual heroes are people who weren’t content to stay where they were if God was leading them forward.  In planting Frontier Community Church, we seek to follow their legacy, pressing forward in our relationships, community and world with the message of hope and redemption through Jesus Christ.

We’re a team who is passionate about the gospel of Jesus and is working to see that message transform lives in Morgantown and throughout the region.  As we prepare to go, we hope you’ll explore the site and consider joining our effort to be a family of Jesus-worshipping missionaries for Morgantown and West Virginia.
